Inclusive workplace culture assessment

FAIRER Consulting worked with a leading client within the real estate sector to assess its workplace inclusivity. Taking a deep dive into our client’s culture, we sought to measure its employees’ perceptions of inclusion and belonging across key locations including, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Norway and the UK.

The challenge

Our client tasked us with constructing a bespoke inclusion-at-work assessment, measuring seven core themes:

  • Respect for difference
  • Collaboration
  • Emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Empowerment
  • Psychological safety
  • Insight
  • Trust building

The objective was to identify areas of improvement in our client’s workplace culture, and to define a roadmap, which plotted next steps towards inclusivity goals.

What we did

  • 01 Collecting the inclusion data
  • 02 Utilising the data

Collecting the inclusion data

FAIRER Consulting conducted a workplace inclusivity survey, which was distributed to employees across our client’s key business locations.

Data was segmented and analysed by gender, nationality, business location and business function. This approach provided an opportunity for employees from across the business to in-put perceptions of their working culture using a process that offered absolute anonymity, resulting in high participation rates. The survey highlighted key areas of strength aligned to core business values, as well as areas for growth and development.

Utilising the data

Analysis of the survey results allowed us to design a series of business function-specific playback sessions. As well as providing a space for playback, we designed a set of inclusion workshops that aimed to build awareness of DEI, while also creating a set of organisational actions that would form the basis of a future DEI roadmap.

The impact

Immediate return on investment from our client partnership consisted of:

  • Data and information sets aligning employee perceptions to company values and culture, highlighting areas of strength - as well as risks and opportunities.
  • Building leader and employee capabilities through an immersive educational programme – focusing on the principles of inclusive culture and inclusive leadership.
  • A series of business-centric actions that form the basis of a new DEI roadmap.
